The first step in justice for Aaron Juarez
香蕉视频app网On June 1, 2013 Aaron Juarez died as a result from being punched once in the face, knocked unconscious, causing him to fall backwards, hitting his head on the concrete parking lot. Aaron hit his head, resulting in severe head trauma from which he could not survive.
香蕉视频app网The man responsible for this is David Alvarez, 31 years old from Corpus Christi, Texas. David Alvarez was arrested on Thursday June 6 and had a bond set at $200,000. Mr. Alvarez's family and his attorney have requested a reduction of that bond. This petition has been started to ensure that doesn't happen.
香蕉视频app网Over 3,100 signatures were collected to support the denial of the bond reduction request. Alvarez was scheduled for a bond reduction hearing Thursday morning and his attorney Scott Ellison was going to ask 28th State District Judge Nanette Hasette to lower Alvarez’s $200,000 bail. But Ellison canceled the hearing earlier this week and didn’t reschedule it for another day, according to court staff.

UNESCO Site Hadrian's Villa saved from garbage dump
The Italian government had plans to put an emergency garbage dump a mile away from Hadrian's Villa, a large Roman archaeological complex located in Tivoli, Italy. Sponsored by the American Institute for Roman Culture, a petition was launched to save this important UNESCO site. They exceeded their target of 5,000 signatures by over 1600. In the end, the Italian government decided NOT to create a garbage dump near by. Congratulations, American Institute for Roman Culture!
When plans to build a natural gas plant in Severance, Colorado arose, the community protested the move via this petition and a Facebook page.
The Coloradoan reported:
“Over the last few months, we learned there were some people who preferred that we move forward without the natural gas processing plant,” Lind [Water Valley CEO] said in a statement. “As a result, we have decided to explore new options for an anchor tenant as we proceed with this development.”
School Shuttle Hours Extended
香蕉视频app网Students at Illinois Wesleyan University petitioned the school to extend shuttle transportation hours to create a safer environment. On the petition, the student manager for Titan Transport confirmed that hours would be extended.

"A video clip showing a Hong Kong woman with a rare skin condition has been removed from YouTube after a barrage of complaints over the unauthorised use of her image by a website that is designed to offend or startle the viewer.
Images of Mui Thomas - who has Harlequin ichthyosis, a rare congenital disorder that leaves her skin red raw and prone to infection - appeared in a video titled 5 Terrifying Rare Birth Diseases of all Time."

York Art Gallery Reduces Fees For Local Visitors
When the York Public Art Gallery started charging entrance fees to their institution, a petition was launched opposing the move. Here's what the petition creator said:
"The petition reached over the 1000 mark and is still rising. The comments have been used at a variety of public meetings to help our cause. We are still campaigning for access to art for all at York Art Gallery and have had a lot of local media exposure thanks to the petition. The petition brought me together with other people in York who had concerns about the subject and we have created a peaceful protest and several public meetings since..."
While admission fees weren't completely removed due to cuts in funding, a low-cost card for local residents was offered to allow people of all incomes to visit. Read more about the decision on the .
Newspaper apologizes for publishing controversial adA contentious ad was published in the News-Gazette which local residents felt promoted an image of Lexington and the surrounding community as "racist, divisive, and unwelcoming". Over 300 signed the petition asking the newspaper to apologize for printing it, which the editor did soon after the petition was launched.
