The first step in justice for Aaron Juarez
香蕉视频app网On June 1, 2013 Aaron Juarez died as a result from being punched once in the face, knocked unconscious, causing him to fall backwards, hitting his head on the concrete parking lot. Aaron hit his head, resulting in severe head trauma from which he could not survive.
香蕉视频app网The man responsible for this is David Alvarez, 31 years old from Corpus Christi, Texas. David Alvarez was arrested on Thursday June 6 and had a bond set at $200,000. Mr. Alvarez's family and his attorney have requested a reduction of that bond. This petition has been started to ensure that doesn't happen.
Over 3,100 signatures were collected to support the denial of the bond reduction request. Alvarez was scheduled for a bond reduction hearing Thursday morning and his attorney Scott Ellison was going to ask 28th State District Judge Nanette Hasette to lower Alvarez’s $200,000 bail. But Ellison canceled the hearing earlier this week and didn’t reschedule it for another day, according to court staff.
Aaron Juarez's killer remains in jail.

Art at community recycling center savedA local recycling plant was ordered to remove local art that had been decorating its walls. One resident gathered the support of the town to keep the artwork, and this is what he had to say:
"I am happy to report that I am working with my town’s select board to re-establish the artwork at our recycling center. Your website helped me gather about 10% of the town’s voting population and then I presented the petition to our town’s select board members – it went a long way in changing their minds. In addition to the petition, I used your website to enlist our townspeople to attend a specific select board meeting at which the artwork was to be discussed and there was a record turn out for the meeting (in fact, it was standing room only – our tiny town hall was packed). The petition was a turning point in our town’s battle to save the art."
Congratulations Jim and the Town of Candia!
